Ghar ka Birthday Cake


  • 1 1/2 cups Maida
  • 1 cup Plain yogurt
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1.1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Cooking oil
  • 2 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder

For Christmas Compote:

  • 2 tbsp Dry Blueberry
  • 2 tbsp Dry Fig
  • 2 tbsp Dry cranberry
  • 2 tbsp mix fruit peels
  • 8-10 glace cherries
  • 3 tbsp raisins
  • 2 tbsp sultanas
  • 4 tbsp plum
  • 2 tbsp dried chopped apricots
  • 1 ½ cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar

For The Icing:

  • 2 cups Whipped cream
  • 1 cup Dark chocolate shavings


  • In a bowl add sugar and curds together and mix it well. Now add the baking soda and baking powder to it. Mix and keep it aside.
  • Now add cooking oil, vanilla, milk, Cocoa powder, maida and fold it in and make a smooth batter.
  • Bake it in a greased tin at 180© for 25-30 mins.
  • In a pan add orange juice along with sugar and bring it to a boil then add all the dried fruits in the pan and cook for sometime.
  • Cool them both.
  • Cut the cake and spread some cream along with the compote and repeat the process again, cover the cake in whipped cream and put chocolate shavings on it and decorate with Christmas goodies.
